590A1 barrel interchangeable with 835?

Good afternoon,

I'm wondering if anyone has first-hand knowledge of being able to switch out a Mossberg 590A1 barrel (18.5") with a Mossberg 835 hunting barrel.

The 'internet' seems to be full of people saying that it CAN be done with the 18.5" barrel only, but I'm just wondering if anyone actually KNOWS it can be done.

I can verify the 835 barrel fits on the 18.5" 590A1. Perfectly. I have not fired anything through it yet, but there's no reason why that should be a problem. The 835 barrel can accept up to 3.5" shells, but the 590A1 action can't feed that anyways...

Both Mossberg and local gun shops will not confirm this for liability reasons (I checked).

Today I picked up an all-purpose 28" 835 barrel, with accumag chokes, for $181 + GST.

Note: It will only fit on the 18.5" 590A1.
