So, i'm somewhat (mostly) an idiot, and managed to mess up not one; but two front bead sights on my 14" 590A1 barrel. Upon attempting to remove the factory bead to replace it with a truglo FO sight, I broke it. I managed to get the piece left stuck in the barrel out, and life was grand.

Fast forward 2 minutes, and i'm threading in the truglo version. I get it 1.5 turns and it lines up properly, but is rather loose, so I attempt to tighten it. It ends up being snug, but is 90 degrees off, so I proceed to carefully tighten it to align it with the barrel. At the last 0.0000001 degree left to turn before it's *just* right, it snaps off, leaving the remainder of the threads just under the surface of the barrel. I have no way of removing this myself as clearly, I am an idiot.

One thing I dislike about the 14" barrel is how the POA/POI is thrown off by the low bead sight, and I thought that maybe this is a good chance to remedy this. Something like this caught my eye, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these, or something similar. I'd rather not have to run an optic on my gun when I run the short barrel, but if I cant find a good front sight option then I may need to.

After checking out various options IMO one of the best choices is to attach an XS Big Dot tritium sight over the stock Mossberg sight.

Sorry to hear of all the troubles you're having.

I'm considering sending it to them to see what they can do about the front sight and maybe have it threaded for a breacher too since it will be there already.

I had the same POA/POI concerns with mine.
I already have a number of other SBS' with adequate front sights so wanted something different for my 590A1, so I installed a 1913 receiver rail and bought a nice little Bushnell red dot.
