590a1 rifled barrel avalible?

Would like to get myself a 590 and I was wondering if it would work for a deer gun as well.Is a rifled barrel avalible?If not what kind of groups are you getting with your slugs through the heavy smooth barrel?Wich slugs do you prefer?

I have one and don't belive its possible. the Remmy 870 seems to be the best platform to customize a shottie. I am just sighting mine in and it seems pretty good at 50m so far. One i smash my piggy bank and get some $$$ I'll re-sight her in for 75m

I can easily hit milk jugs at 100m using slugs in my Mossberg 590 using slugs and ghost ring sites. At 50m the slugs are on top of each other, so you could probably get away with it if you kept your shots close.

Can't see why not, I know many in the USA that do exactly this.

You would have to get closer then a rifle...not unlike bowhunting in around the 50 yard range. (practice)

Also check the hunting regs in your area to see if you are allowed to use a single projectile in your shotgun for hunting...some areas want only buckshot.

My old man used to hunt deer with the cylinder bore shottie sometimes...he claims its better in dense bush as the projectile doesn't deflect it it hits a twing etc...
