So I'm looking at getting a 590A1 SPX, and I'm really wondering is it worth the extra 150-200? I mean other than the bayonet and the rail on top of the receiver is it really worth it?

Further more, whats the availability of M9 bayonets in Canada? I've checked the EE with no avail. If anyone knows where I can find one and the rough price point that'd be great. Also, do you guys know if the one that comes with the 590 fits an AR-15 type rifle? A norinco CQ-A1 to be exact.
As always thanks for your help.

Don't forget the SPX has different ghost sights then the regular, and different sights then the "black water" edition. I'm trying to decide which one to get too.

this is what it comes down to. The 590A1 SPX has the bayonet AND the nice ghost ring sights with the red fibre optic front sight. Its a a great setup and the top rail allows for nice optic additions.

As for the bayonet, it adds a great cool factor to everything, plus you get a quality knife. So if you're into camping, you can bring your gun (assuming the park allows you to) and your knife.

What's different or "better" about the SPX ghost ring sights?

Also it seems those sights ride a little high. Or is that not a concern?

Is that a M9 bayonnet?

Get a 20" heavy barrel 590A1 with a lug and get a better bayonet yourself.
I would go with the OKC-3S bayonet - much better built than M9 and the handle will not break if you actually use it (e.g. prying) and will penetrate through almost anything...

590A1 SPX, #50771, you will not have any regrets....I think it's the only "military use" SG that shot 3000 rounds for the US military without issue?

I have one, the bayo is solid as a rock for me... pried open some crates well enough, heavy though,

the rail is built in, you get fibre optic, raised on the front instead of some hi vis blade, and the heavy barrel has a compensator built in (at least mine did).
thats why its more $ then the model down from it

my only complaint is that there was no option for a shorter or telescoping stock since the LOP is a little long for me.

Could always throw a blackhawk knoxx stock on it. And I'm not selling my benelli for the use of a bayonet. I just find the mossberg fits me better, I'm not a fan of the oversized fore end on the benelli pumps. That and the SPX just has this ### appeal to it, at least to me :)

You get the ghost ring sights, metal safety, heavy walled barrel with compensator.........:), built in rail...hehe.

Swap out the stock for a 12" or 13" Hogue........dayumn!!! :D

I am drooling....

So it comes with an M9 Ontario bayonet? I was looking at getting this model too. Cool! I'm getting broke real fast... the shopping list keeps growing exponentially! lol
