Just came across this site. a stock that can turn a Remington 597 into a 26 3/4" bullpup sounds good to me! Anyone heard of this before?

Sure would be cool... too bad all bullpups are banned in Canada. :nest:

:D
I dont know if thats right. I seen a guy shooting an one of those israeli bulpups at my range about a month ago. It was a 5.56 but i cant exactly remember what it was called. Also the Norinco Type 97 is legal and canada ammo sells it if you want to check it out.

Aftermarket bullpup stocks are illegal. If the bullpup stock of an original firearm is integral to the operation of that firearms, then it's legal, like the Tavor you saw.

Bullpup rifles may be legal, depending on their design. Bullpup stocks are prohibited devices. Basically, if the action can be removed from the stock and fired separately, the stock is prohibited.

Don't worry. At least one person here understands sarcasm.

It's all about catching the smily a couple lines down.... :)

My Tavor just showed up. Very nice! And yes, legal as someone stated because the stock is essential for operation.

"Add-on" bullpups are illegal because the stock is not required, and my understanding comes under the "modification" wording in the laws. Same reason why you can buy a 8.5 inch shotgun barrel, but you can't cut your own down to that size, as you would have then modified it.

I believe that's correct. Anyone correct me? I may not be right on all the little details. But it's how I understand it, and it seems to be working for me. :) Like this Tavor!!

kinda retarted when i can do the same with the factory ruger stock, and it still fires

Everyday you guys give me another reason to move to the states. WTF is wrong with this country. Im sorry to say but there is no chance of recovering from this diseased state we are living in.

Most bullpups are class III devices down south. I.E. inline with an unobtanium MP5 unless you have VERY deep pockets.

Ruger kits and im sure this 597 kit is not a class III device. And as for the Tavor. Who cares Ill have 4 Ar's for the same price. By the looks of things here it wouldnt surprise me if they took away the tavors and t97's in the next couple years anyways. There is already talk of such things. You cannot even begin to compare the guns that the states has compared to here.
