Seems to be a popular trim for this gun, and the oneim interested in, my question is do you who own or have used one for a day find it to heavy for a day of making those varmints sorry?

I went to my local gun shop here, and after feeling out a few guns, the 10/22 feels like a capgun too small and kind of cheep feeling, teh winchester wildcat which is what i was origonally interested in felt cheap also, I didnt however get to feel the laminated stock 597, but my brother has a synthetic one, and i like the full size stock.

Thanks for your input

597 ls hb is the only way to go. I would go as far as to say its by far the best semi in 22 world.

Well the TVP has a a different color of that stock ... and it is stainless. Also, you can get the Evo stock in many colors by itself.

I don't know what it is ..... I just can't figgure what it is ..... But I just kant get excited about those stocks.

I just about bought a 597 on saturday, Heavy barrel, plastic regualr stock (no thumb hole). It looked ok... I wound up buying a 10/22 base model NIB for $189.00 instead...lol! It was their last one. When the new order comes in the price is going up to $319.00.... I just couldn't help myself!

I am still probably going to buy a 597 but I have a BMR on order right now and I am trying hard to keep my pennies till I get that!

you buy that at TNT? I was in there, and i got the worst service twice in a row, i have no intention of spending more there then i have to.

Use one in the field for a while.... you'll get excited about it then. I didn't like them at first either, but they really win you over with the feel and handling.

I agree, I was not to fussy on them as well but I own two now after handling one at the range a few times!!!

I deal with Darryl, Ed & Alice all the time @ TNT... I've always found their service to be .... well .... Lack luster sometimes, but overall they try to do their best.

I got the 10/22 @

Unfortunatly I am usually unwilling to buy a gun with out at least holding it first and that means I have to go to my local gun store.. TNT in this case.. to try it out. If I like it I will print out the webs pricing, take it in there, and usually I can get the same price ... or a little better.. and when u have a problem or warrenty concern, They go out of their way to help you out... Not all web dealers are like that.

I sorry you've had bad experiances @ TNT.. That really sucks.

notsorichguy, I agree, those evo stocks really never been my thing too untill I handled one. It was on the shelve in a store and I wasn't shopping for 22 that day either. Just for a fun of it I asked to give me jellow jacket to fondle. I shouldered it. Asked for a price again. Bargained a little but I knew I am buying it. See, when it is pressed against your shoulder you cannot see how ungly the stock is. But can sure feel comfort and something pleasant about how it hadles.

lol... How many times have you gone to the store for a box of shells on the way to the range and wind up spending $600+ on a "box of bullets" :D:D:D I probably do it once a year too!! Last time it was a Savage .17 hmr and by the time I'd put rings, bases, scope and a brick of ammo onto the tab it was $650.00..... Damn impulse purchases..... I can't even be mad with myself.... I Friiken LOVE that gun!!

i had regular laminated stock one in my hands and i love the feel of it. both i and my wife have one in just plastic grey and it is nice.I just didn't want to spend too much on the laminated one...maybe one day lol
