I just got 2 new mags and it turns out that they are the 2nd generation and do not work properly. I spoke with a rep at Remington and they said to send them in for 3rd gen replacements. What hoops do I have to jump through to send them in from Canada? any thoughts would be helpful.

I have 1st and 2nd generation mags and they both work fine in my 22lr 597.
What calibre do you have?
What do they look like?
Cant you return them to where you bought them?

Dude, I've sent a $400 scope to the US and had them returned with no problems.

The problem is you might spend almost the same amount of what new mags would cost in shipping.

Therefore I'd recommend finding a Remington rep up here in Canada and then seeing if they can do the exchange for you.

If you insist on sending them down, just make sure to state that the items are being returned for repair or exchange. Also include the emails from Remginton with your emails attached in the envelope if they get opened.

Good luck

For $12.00 - $15.00 CAD worth of item, I would just try to have it replaced from where you bought it. YOu will be spending more than what it cost in mailing if you send it to the south side of the border. NOT worth it.

thanks for the input guys, I forgot about the shipping charges, anyways, I bought them from wholesale sports in winnipeg. Gave them a call and they said no problem returning them, gonna tell the guy in charge at the gun counter that they are selling the bad gen 2's
