597 sling options????

Get Uncle Mike's sling mounts and drill em. There were circles in the synthetic stock of mine. I put the sling holes in the circles. Drill width is screw shaft diameter.

You shouldn't be drilling anything? :S I don't know about you but on my 597, there should be little notches sticking out from the bottom of the stock if you haven't noticed with a little hole through them. One at the upper portion and one near the rear butt end. You can just hook those up to some swivels that are connected to your sling.

And any sling will work as long as it's comfortable for you.

Not all 597's come with studs already in the stock. You need to drill a hole and then screw a stud in on all the ones I have seen.
 
I have a couple of Browning Xcelerator sling/swivel combos on my rifles.
Picked them up at LeBaron's for <$26 each. The swivels are the detachable type. (see Zokakoka's post)
I'm happy with them...ymmv
