Calling all gunnutz members. My freaking thumbs are bleeding! :(
Does any in the whole wide world make a loader or know how to mod a loader for a Remington 597. Cuz my girlfriend can shoot quick than I can reload them. :mad:
I just want to save my thumbs. :confused:

You dont need a speedloader for 597...:rolleyes: Teach your girlfriend to load the mags!!!!:D:D:D:D
Heck.... during my younger days I always teach my girlfriend all the "howtos" once they learn it... damn, I cant stop them from doing it <EWG>......if you know whattamean...;););)

On the serious note.... there is no such thing as speedloader for 597.... so live with it.. either you save your thumb or you teach the GF. :D:D:D:D
 
She has very tiny fingers!

I do have 2 30 round mags but she still fly's through it. Is there any way to mod a speed loader to work? Or how about maglula would it work?
 
Just a thought. Disassemble the mag, drop in the rounds from the bottom and re-assemble. Just don't loose any parts. At least your thumbs won't hurt, but it might give you a real headache. :) (good luck getting the spring back in)

Wow I Did It!!!

K this is what you got to buy and do to make a thumb saver for your 597.
  1. Buy Magazine HKS Loader.
  2. Get Sanding bit on the dremil.
  3. There will be two ridges on ether side of the "plunger". Grind these extaly off.
  4. While holding mag with one hand and the thumb pressing on the "plunger leaver" slide in the round and at the same time release the "plunger leaver".

Got the HKS loader from reliable. It's so esay even my girlfriend did 30 rounds no problem.

Hate to revisit an old thread but I have been trying to search for a loader if there is such a thing. Since this thread has been posted has someone come out with one yet, I can't seem to find one. I may have to try modifying one as posted in this tread if there are not any made.
 
As for the hks loaders, which model works the best as they don't make one specifically for the 597 at least I didn't see one.
 
I used an 9mm version and filled down the tip. Although since then I found the BabyUpLula and it is light years better for all my 22LR's ;)

Have you found these babyuplulas in Canada or did you order from the states. I have never seen these before.
