I know this doesn't help you cause we're in canada but have you seen a stock from a company called, center balance system. It's under products and at the bottom of the page. Wish I could get one! Looks kind a starwars'ish.

depends on what you want for look and feel but on my 597 vtr i just removed the the factory stock, the long support rod just unscrews and the thread is a match for any ar style buffer tube to screwed back in
