597 vq hammer review

Figured id share some experience about the volquartsen (vq) hammer for my rem 597.

I ordered mine along with 3 extra springs from Brownells . No issues with shipping to Canada.

Installation was pretty easy.

Trigger pull went from APPX 5lbs pull to 3lbs ( almost right on the money) so very pleased with it.

I'm considering the upgrade. You didn't get the extractor too?

i did the hammer upgrade as well, fantastic results. I would say the trigger pull was around 3lb, then i pulled out all the trigger components because it was getting pretty dirty in there. Cleaned them, did a little lube on the contact points. It's easily under 3lb now but still very crisp.

I didn't get the extractor, my extractor looks/works fine after a few thousand rounds.

I got my parts from Milarm in Edmonton. The wifes 597 went from a brutal 9lbs down to a much nicer 3 and turned it into a very accurate and reliable little .22

Didnt get the extractor, read a previous review on cgnsaying brownells cant ship the hammer , but cant send the extractor this way. I didnt go with milarm because the website is terrible. Worth the upgrade in my opinion.
