597 vs 795 (remington vs marlin)

Having to choose 1 or the other as your only 22LR semi ..which would you prefer and why?

I've had three 597's. One was a reliable and accurate gun that I regret selling. The other two were complete crap: totally unreliable, multiple problems and malfunctions and, worse of all, terrible accuracy.

I've had two 795's, and a friend has one as well. All three have been stone-axe reliable, acceptably accurate, a pleasure to own and use.

I would never throw away another dollar on a 597.

My 597, new last year, has been super reliable and is very accurate. I can't comment on the Marlin.

the marlin 795 and marlin 60(tube fed 15 shot) are GREAT value.

597 owner here. Extremely happy with my rifle. 3 FTF's in about 1500 rounds Federal bulk. Zero FTF's with Yellow Jacket.
