I took my 591 trigger apart for a cleaning and polishing. Putting the action back in the stock, I couldn’t find any specs anywhere as to the torque on the mounting screw. Anyone? I used 30 in-lbs, but action was stiff. Backed off to 20, and it’s better. Love to know the factory specs.

Would also love to find a resource for specs. I’m having trouble with the action of the safety. Safety operates smoothly, but have trouble pushing it forward for the bolt release.

Just received my new extractor, so looking for hints and tips on replacing.
And eventually, hopefully, will find some ammo! :ROFLMAO:

18inch pounds...
Leupold mentions these values on their website and even stumbled across other ring and base makers with similar values..
Screw dia. is the common denominator for the torque values.
I thgink you misunderstood the OP he is asking about the action screws not scope rings or bases

I have no official # for you, but i wouldn’t go over 20 personally. I have a 580 22lr which is the same action. I go light on these oldies. Mine shoots good in the 10-12 range, although I’ve not done proper torque testing.
