Removed 700 police, for an AI black folding stock. big convenience for the mag loading..... bulky!! For bench shooting no problem. I was planning to remove my 5r for a JAE... Decided against it. The 5R is shorter by 2"(barrel) and yes so is the stock(balance issue). I found it to be a great out of the box shooter, the police trigger is a little better. Look into a Bell And Carlson tactical/varmint stock available OD with black spider Webbing. If you plan on mods, then get a good gunsmith for the 700 not detailed finish work. 1)Bolt Face and Lugs Squared and Trued. 2)Action Squared and Trued. 3)Recoil Lug Squared. 4) Action Glass Bedded into Bedding Block. 4)Excess Factory Finish Removed from Rear of Bedding Block. 5) trigger pull 6) add in magazine feed for AI mags. 7) bigger Tactical Bolt Knob..... Cheaper alternative and the rifle is much improved. Or go all out with extra options.. New stock, Bat or Surgeon rifle action with spiral fluted bolt,titanium firing pin, Timney or Geissele,Cerakote finish. I almost did the second half option,calculated the expense and let the 5r with first mods and bought a Coyote from PGWDTI, OD finish with Titanium folding stock and x-tra mags. That was my preference. Nothing to touch on the Coyote.
