I'm already planning for my next rilfe. I want a true small game gun, but i want a cartridge with a big case, but small bullet diameter. now, i have no experience 'yote hunting, so what do you guys think of these 2 calibers? Or should i stick with something smaller like .243 or 22-250?

A .243 (with 55g bt's going the speed of light ) will be my next coyote gun. Rem SPS probably.

I was also looking into a 25-06 but decided to stay in the .308 for no particular reason.

i already have a .308 on the way, i want somethign different. I was looking at a Sako 75 hunter laminated stainless

I dont know what the terrain looks like where you hunt yotes but I wish I could afford a Sako to subject to that kind of punishment. Good on ya. Put it to use.

for now i have the intention of hunting on sheep farms, farming lands in general. Alot of those around here with fields that extend way out there.

Also, i believe in doing things right the first time

If you want to save the pelts I would stick with 22CF's, I have a 25'06 and the 75gr. Vmax's at 3775fps, and 85gr. Bal. Tips at almost the same speed open up yotes, like a can opener.

I have a feeling my 25-284 will be a real screamer of a coyote rifle when loaded with the 85 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip @ 3500 fps

if you dont care about hide damage, then go with the fast 25's or 6.5's

Ive seen first hand what a 260 Remington can do to a coyote when shot with 87 & 100 gr. varmint bullets  :D

i've seen videos of what it does :D

I think i'll chose the 25-06 cause its actually available from the factory from Sako.

Too bad they dont make a 6.5x284!
