I have been playing with my 6.5-284 for about a year now and intend to take it to the long range shoot later. Last year it was fresh, and I didn't have much time to really work on loads for it. It seemed to be a bit fussy as to an accuracy load, with some very good groups, but not consistently so. One good group, two not so good. Drove me crazy.
Well I left it be for the hunting season, then winter set in, etc, etc, This spring I started again, with mixed results. But I tried a new Combination the other day, and it looks like a winner. I changed from BR2 primers to the new type WLR's, and with Reloder 22, shot 4 consecutive 5-shot groups of .277", .304", .377" and .389".
I am now going to load a bit more and find out if I just got lucky, or if this is the winner I have been searching for. Now if I can do the same for my 6mm Heavy.
Regards, Eagleye.
