I have heard that the Lee 6.5 Carcano die is actually .264 diameter. The Carcano is designed for a .268 bullet. Who makes a .268 Carcano die that I can use in my RCBS press?
Should not matter, just a bit more neck tension. Hornady makes the .268 bullets, I have tried them and they shoot not much different than the .264. That being said this could vary gun to gun.
I purchased a set of Lee 6.5 Carcano dies last year - they came with both .264" and .268" expanders. I don't know if older Lee die sets were equipped with both sizes of expander.
