I want to buy my dad a TC ICON in the 6.5 creedmore but would like to get some opinions on it as a hunting cartridge ?

Good for any animal in North America. But why do you want to buy him a gun in a cartridge that you know nothing about?

Someone suggested it to me. Thats why i'm trying to find more out. I don't know much about it. I just know that he want's something smaller then his 30-06 for WT deer etc. Anything you guys would suggest? He like's the TC Icon and I'm not sure if its limited for calibers.

.308 is probably more available and has more bullet options. 6.5x55 is also something to look at that would probably be more available.

Smaller than a 3006, an your thinkin a 308?

hell, just dont put as much powder in your 06 case, I always thought, an still do that the 308 and 3006 are very much the same ####, but ones a LA an ones a SA...

Give the 6.5x55 Sweede a look. Good for anything from coyotes to moose and bear, inherently accurate and mild recoil make for the perfect package. If I only owned one caliber this would be it, I own a safe full of rifles and it's the only centre fire that gets used.
