Anybody know a good source of Grendel ammo in Canada? Still seems to be pretty sparse, but with the new Howa mini's in 6.5 Grendel and the possibility of other rifles coming in, am wondering if anyone has a good source. Would also like to hear from anyone who own's a Grendel on what rifle they've got and what ammo it likes.

First time in this portion of the forum - the thread on approved ammo by NRCAN was eye-opening, something I knew but haven't thought about in a while. With this in mind, is this part of the reason there isn't more Grendel ammo in Canada? I assume all Hornady ammo is approved and Wolf.

The ammo source had 1 box of hornady 6.5 grendel a few months ago and i grabbed it right away. I think wolverine supplies is the canadian dealer for alexander arms so they may be able to get some. My plan is to convert my sks to shoot 6.5 grendel

See some others are looking as well now that there are a few more Grendel's in Canada available. I've seen reloading components online Prophet River, SFRC and Grouse River have it listed but currently bacordered. Hopefully wolverine and ATRS start stocking as well as they are selling firearms in this caliber now (or st least accepting orders for them.

Some local ranges have said they can bring it specific items from their Hornady distributor, but I'd have to buy a case at a time. Once I get my Grendel ordered, I'll probably see if I can set up a group buy here in Edmonton if none of the online dealers have it in stock. Would like to see some of the AE 120 g HPBT and the privi partisan too for plinking ammo. Won't be putting any steel case wolf though mine though. Would try some wolf gold though I hear it's actually manufactured by privi partisan and is identical ammo.

I've seen the same few vendors / sponsors carrying the ammo, but everyone is out of stock. Look around and you'll probably find someone with some hornady amax ammo. I'm guessing I'll have to reload when I get my xcr-l Grendel barrel, but having some off the shelf ammo will be very welcomed.

I've talked to a couple local stores that have said they'll order it for me, but I don't see it regularly stocked anywhere.

I've pestered Wolverine about the 6.5 Grendel kits AND about bringing in inexpensive 6.5 Grendel ammo (so that I could perhaps shoots a 3 Gun match). They acknowledged the request for the kits after a bit of pestering and (at the time of writing) have said they will bring them in. The request for inexpensive Wolf ammo wasn't handled the same - my request for inexpensive Wolf ammo was essentially ignored. Once I have a 6.5 Grendel kit, I will be looking to do a group buy through an import company like IRUNGUNS or Prophet River to get some inexpensive ammo into the country (legally) at a decent price.

As a side note, oddly enough, I see a serious lack of Wolf ammo in country. I've been a part of the shooting community since 2004 and not one retailer that I can think of has ever imported the Wolf line. I've seen plenty of new lines/brands of ammo imported, but never Wolf.

I've said this for years, we need Wolf ammo in all calibers. It always goes bang, although the loads are inconsistent, and it's cheap cheap cheap. Imagine $250/1000 7.62x39, $0.40/round .303, and all the little calibers for cheap. It'd be a hit of unparalleled success.

My advice, don't wait, put an actual order in like I did, or you could be waiting a loooong time.

The kit, and in my experience don't wait for anything to show up. I was given the run around and multiple screw ups on trying to get a 6.8 type 2 bolt for 8 months and had to contact Rob Arms direct to coordinate for Wolverines next order. Was and am less than impressed. I also have to add, props to Alex for dropping one in the mail for me after it was missed from the order again.

On the ammo note, I found one place that had some online, but it was a non sponsor vendor obscure vendor I hand't visited before. You should really place and order and not just ask to be notified, you'll be at the mercy or whoever said it and long since forgot about it. You may also want to copy in Rob Arms too to make it happen.

An order for ammo or a 6.5 Grendel kit? I've been in contact with Wolverine regarding the 6.5 kit an asked to be notified when the kits show up so I can order. As for the ammo, I will wait until I have a 6.5 kit in my hands.

I can't find the site I mentioned, but I will say I was only able to find the dies on amazon, but I'm sure one of the site sponsors can order dies in. I just didn't' see them listed as in stock online.
