Hey,

Looking for some 6.5 Jap ammo or brass to get me started. Where are people getting their brass or factory rounds from? Tradex is currently sold out of brass and loaded ammo.

Cheers,

Ian

Yup.... Got my only 3 cases of 7.7 from them. Imo you either have to wait, which maybe a while since Tradeex is scaling down or import it thru Irunguns, or something to that effect. As brass also need export permits. There are also gun shows or resizing exisiting brass.

Henry at Budget Shooters Supply.

That's great! Thanks!

Unfortunately, they are closed for summer break and won't be open again until Sept. 1st. Oh, well. It's only a month and my birthday is on the 5th, so what better time to stock up on some stuff from them!!! LOL

Cheers,

Ian

BEARHUNTER, as usual, is right on the ball.

220 Swift makes into 6.5 Jap VERY easily. When loading, just remember that the original 220 brass is quite heavy; should drop your loads a couple grains from the Book.

It was Graf brass, I’ve only loaded a few cases so far but it seems to be consistent, website says they still have 5 bags in stock. It’s new, not once fired.

Thanks so much for the info! I'll be getting on it! Will look into both the Graf brass and the 220 swift conversion.

Need something soon as I have a very nice Type 44 Cavalry Carbine coming in the mail today!

Pics when I can. Going away for the weekend and I'm not sure if I will be able to pick it up before Tuesday.

Rayner shine gunworks, Lancer Sask has had brass. Also I have reformed 6.5 Japanese brass out of 35 Remington. One pass through a 308 die and then though a 6.5 die.

Interesting! I'll have to keep that in mind as 35 Remington is my favourite Deer Caliber and the old Remington Model 8/81's and 14/141's are my favourite deer rifles!

Just picked up the last 5 bags of Graf Brass from Ellwood Epps, so I should be good for a while now.

Thanks for all your help everyone!!!
