Found sone old 6.5jap ammo.
I can read japanese. None of the markings meaning anything in japanese.
Wondering if there is a nerd here that knows what the headstamp means.

Could you give the dimensions, bullet, rim, base diameter and case length.
Does not look like a 6.5 Japanese.
Could be a 7.62x54R Moisin.

Lack the proper tools to get dimensions.
I'm demo'ing an abandoned farm house that belonged to a japanese marine captain
. Finding all kinds of cool militatia everyday.
From the photos ive found it is clear that He was involved in the invasion of shanghai in the early 1930s
Found 3 boxes of ammo(Which i assume are 6.5 jap since japan isnt a gun country)
A very heavily rusted gunto military saber
Bunch of photo albums from the war.
A 1930s era marine uniform and some medals and such.

Got my hopes up for finding a nambu pistol. I'll keep digging.

I does look a little like 7.62x54R.Very early production or something made in China by non government ammo maker.Maybe purchase made by someone in china and taken over by Jap forces?

Who knows.Lots of very tangled history went on in that corner of the world before 1941.

BTW-can you post some pictures of stuff you found?I'm curious :)
