Hi Guys,

Anyone know where a guy can get 6.5mm 160 grain pointed bullets suitable for hunting?

I know Hornady offers a round nose 160 grain, but was looking for something with a better BC

Thanks

Fat

Lapua is a 155 gr Mega semi spitzer, more like a round nose than a spitzer.

Try a 140 gr Nosler Partition. Sleek and they penetrate like a heavy slug

Hornady makes a 160gr RN that drills through almost 6 ft of flesh at 2400fps out of a 6.5x55 Swede.Killed many a moose with those.......................Harold ***42gr of IMR4350 or N-204

holy hell nice thread steve.. I have a husqvarna 1600 in 6.5x55 on order and was planning to start reloading soon.. Very helpfull to say the least!

Woodleigh does list a 160 gr Protected Point bullet

You may want to check Norma; the last factory loads I saw in 160 were a round nose from them. My uncle has used them on moose and they work wonders, but he had never shot one past 150 yards I would say.

My Win FWT 6.5x55 wouldn't stabilize the 160gr Hornady as they were tipping at 100 yards but shot 1/2 MOA with the shorter profile old 156gr Sako's.I think Win used a 1-8" twist and most others 1-9.Military used 1-7 1/4.............Harold
