Good morning my fellow gun nutz! I'm a pretty big newbie when it comes to bolt action rifles and long range shooting in general. I've recently come across a rifle chambered in 6.5 prc. I would love to hear some of your opinions, thoughts and suggestions on types of scopes you'd recommend. I want to start hunting but probably won't have time this year, it would mainly be used for practice so when I eventually start to hunt, I'll be familiar with the gun. My outdoor range has a pretty vast selection of distance, 50m-900m.
Would love to hear your suggestions for a first-time-budget-friendly-but-also-not-####ty scope lol.

Thanks for your time!

I'd go with minimum 4-16x50 or even better 5-25x56 if you're really looking to reach out there with some serious accuracy. Yes, a 6x or 10x will do the trick but for really long range accuracy on a stable platform, the higher powered scopes are pinpoint accurate.

$500 or less will probably fall short. Double that number and you might acheive some repeatable accuracy.

If you want to use it for hunting and long range target shooting, make sure it has parallax adjustment. Might be hard to find for $500. I have a 4-16x50 on a hunting rifle and it’s too powerful below 50 yd for my liking. 2.5-10x is a sweet spot. 10x is plenty for long range shooting, but you won’t see your hits or have the same level of precision.
