6.5 x 284 Norma shooters

What are you long range Shooters think of their Berger 140 grain vld in the 6.5 caliber in comparison to the 6.5 Hornady eld-x bullet

I haven’t shot the eld. But the 140 Berger is great. I’ve had good luck with the 139 scenar also. I might try the hornady when I run out of bullets and re barrel.

I have being shooting the 143 Horn ELDX with 53 grs RL22 and a FED215 sparker for 2936 fps and Great accuracy from a 26" Benchmark barrel - RJ

I tried the 143 ELDX but it wasn't as accurate or consistent as the 130 gr Bergers. I was using IMR 4350, 24" Kreiger barrel with the 130's running 2950fps or so.

I've heard the ogive is all over the place on the ELDX, or have the fixed that issue by now?

I don't shoot the 6.5X284, just the plain jane 260 rem, but I have found the Lapua 136 Scenar to be the best bullet I have tested out to 1000 metres.

Savage F-Class 6.5-284 wearing NF 5.5-22X56. Best was 139gr Nosler Custom Competition. 2nd Lapua scenar 139gr. Thing is I'm talking out to a mile.

I run the berger 140 in mine, I go back and forth between the hybrid and the vld, I seem to get good reaults with either.
