Does anyone know the difference between the 6.5mm 120gr and 123gr Hornady Amax bullets? It can't be just a 3gr weight difference, that doesn't make sense. For this caliber you'd think there would be at least a 10-15gr jump. Thanks for the replys.
That little jump can make a big difference and is not that uncommon. Look at .30 cal for instance; you can get 160, 165, 168 & 175gr match bullets. The difference, as stated, is the OAL length of the projectile which means a different ogive and a different ballistic co-effcient so different trajectory / results can be achieved at various distances. Of course getting those results requires various load development to see what works best in YOUR rifle.
