I'm looking to build a 6.5x55mm percision rifle with a 27" barrel. Likely will be shooting 140gr and 142gr SMK bullets at around 2700ft. Which twist should I go for? I'm thinking 1:8.
1:8 is overwhelmingly the most popular choice. 139-142 are actually only spec'd for a 1:9, but I would go 1:8 if you want to really reach out over long distances to keep the RPM up at slower speeds.
