Hi all.. I'm wondering if anyone has any data on a 300win mag necked down to 264. I'm planning to shoot 142-160 gr bullets.

Any thoughts???

Thanks

264 is the same case As 7mm rem mag and 338 Win mag. the 300 win mag is a longer case.. but I can't tell you how much longer off the top of my head..

to be honest I'm still waiting on components.. The trigger showed up last week and now I need to wait til I get the scope..The stock is still an unknown ETA..

I'll post once I know more...

For 3mm of case lenght, I would venture to guess you should save the money and buy ammo to feed the .264WM instead.. getting 100-200fps won't change the world..

OH MY: this is an old wildcat. If you already have the barrel chambered for this, you don't have too many options. It is no better than than the 264 Win Mag. However if you're still in the process of building it, sell the action and find yourself a short action with the 308 bolt face, you have three great calibers to choose from for long range. Calibers are the 6.5X55, 6.5X47Lapua and the 6.5X284 they will be more accurate and give you a longer barrel life. Plus if you ever want to sell it, these will sell. Bill
