6.5x50mm Jap ammunition

I've seen some really dated boxes in old-school gun stores but nothing online in a long while.
TradeEx has a listing for Norma at $52/box (of 20 rounds) but it's out of stock.
You will likely be best served by handloading or finding someone who does.

You could try Stan Taylor at Eagle City Trading Post ,Torrington AB, ph. number 403-556-5768. As noted above a perfect candidate for handloading, especially if you wish to do any amount of shooting with it.Congrats on the rifle by the way.

Keep an eye out at gun shows as there always seems to be a box or 2 but not cheap. I am keeping what factory ammo i have but more recently have been converting 35 Remington brass to 6.5 Japanese to load with cast bullets. First past through a 308 resizing die then last past through the 6.5 die. I haven't annealed them yet but plan to before shooing them to much.

Norma is the only maker of brass or ammo. Likely a special order thing via your local gun shop. $52.95 per 20 is likely cheap too. Runs $43.99 Stateside.

I bought both 6.5 and 7.7 PRVI brass from Tradex. I reload my own for both the Type 38 and 99, otherwise it is very expensive. If you need load data and what projectiles to use, just PM me.

7.7 x58 is easily made from 30/06

If I had known the brass was so much I wouldn't have tossed 40 spent casings in the bin at the gun range a few months ago.

I had hoped to avoid reloading -- I have enough time sucking addictions -- but it may come to it if I want Katsumi to be anything more than a safe queen.

Yep , never ever chuck that stuff
