6.5x52 Carcano

I haven't seen any factory loaded ammo for sale for some time. I bought a bunch from Canada Ammo back when they had stock but it's horridly innaccurate in my M91/41.

I got the only box at a gun show two weeks ago. Cost me 30$ for a box of 20 (I just got my M1891 Carcano and really wanted to try it out). Fired 12 out of the 20rds and stopped because the crappy ammunition was keyholing at 100m (still grouped well considering the bullets were going in sideways). The issue is most commercial ammo is pretty crappy, they use the wrong style of bullets and powders (I have heard they like a nice flat based bullet with a fast powder behind it). The only commercial ammo I have seen for sale is Norma and frankly at 45$ a box I will just wait until I get some reloading set up (tradeex has it for sale though if you really want to try it out, I can't speak to the quality of it but I haven't been disappointed shooting Norma in other calibers).

You're best to reload for that round. Any commercial ammo will be expensive and most likely loaded with the wrong size projectiles. Most 6.5's are .264 diameter whereas the Carcano is actually a .268 diameter projectile. Those whacky Italians just have to be different! ;-)

it's the search function on mobile devices with the new web layout. On my phone atleast. when I search a keyword there isn't any rhyme or reason on the dates. on PC it goes newest to oldest.

Correct. I was very confused myself when 10 year old threads pop up. You have to use the advanced search, then it is new to old.
