I’m interested in reloading for a 1917 Hembrug 6.5x53R Dutch.
Does anybody out there have a set of dies they would sell reasonably or loan, so that I can get some ammo going to put this thing back into action?
I have some brass and figure I could form more from .303 British or buy some already formed.
I know custom made dies are available but I’m not interested in spending the kind of money they ask to get some made.
This project is more about nostalgia than anything else since this was my dad’s first hunting rifle back in the 40’s/50’s.
Thanks!

6.5x54 Mannlicher Schoenaur dies will do the job for you.

The dimensions are within a couple of thou all the way around.

This will get you very close and fire forming will do the rest.

Rare set of dies which are special order. I keep hoping to find a set of dies but haven’t had any luck finding them. Only reloadable cases I have ever seen are the ones I have made out of 303 British. I have a few Berdan which could be reloaded but with 100 cases made up haven’t had use them. I use 6.5x54 M/S data for loading. Shooting some of this obsolete stuff you start finding out the rifle is the cheap part. Dies and cases can cost more than the rifle.

AKA .256 Mannlicher I think there's data and case forming instructions in Ken Waters Pet Loads. PM me if you'd like them. You'll have to use a .303 Brit shellholder
