Who makes them? I really have only seen RCBS ones which are out of stock everywhere and can't seem to find these dies anywhere in Canada.

Am I crazy or are they out there? I know it's not a popular caliber anymore, but I'm sure there's still tons of rifles in this chambering around.

I saw a set in Del Selin's Gunshop recently, used, never opened the box to look at them. Much cheaper than new. Box looked good

OP, if you're only loading for one rifle, you can use a Lee Universal decapping die to remove the primer.

Then, if you aren't insisting on full length or even partial resizing of the body, you can use a 260 Rem die to neck size only and you can use the 260 Rem seating die to seat the bullets.

It's quite effective and it gets you by, until proper dies come up.

I have several cartridges that have long been out of production, like the 8mm Kropatschek as an example, that I load in this manner.

I recently found a Norwegian Krag in the back of one of my safes I forgot I had purchased a many years ago. It is one of those old re-barrel jobs I have been told from the 50s? where it was fashionable to re-barrel Krags and Carcanos to 6.5 MS.

I managed to source a lot of brass and I have plenty of 6.5mm bullets from reloading for a couple 6.5x55 rifles.

Any thoughts about trying to use 6.5x55 dies to neck size and seat bullets?

I'm going to try and call Del Selin's this week though to see about that option.

My set are made by RCBS full length sizing, I'd like to find a neck sizing die for it. The book Pet Loads has some good reloading info for the caliber as well.

They would be a bit long, but in a pinch they would work just fine.

Of course, they won't size the neck all the way to the shoulder, but I haven't noticed that to be an issue and in some rifles, I do just that on purpose, especially when fire forming brass.

The only issue you might have, is if you're sizing fired cases FROM A DIFFERENT CHAMBER.

If you're using the cases fired from your chamber, all will go well.

The only time you may have issues is if you have to bump back the shoulder a few thou, because of case stretch.

The 6.5x54 case, when loaded to SAAMI pressures, doesn't stretch much.

It has to be one of the longest lasting cases I've come across.

I have a Dutch Mannlicher in 6.5x53R, which is the identical case but with a rim.

I resized the necks on those cases for a couple of years, using 6.5x55 dies even turned down the seating stem.

I was lucky enough that the decapping pin stem on my Bonanza Bench Rest die set was long enough that I could decap and resize the neck at the same time.
