6.5x55 actions

Are there any single shot short actions that will handle a 6.5x55 for a custom build ?

Look into a Barnard from Robertson Composites.

++ Agree with the Barnard from Robertson Composites, I use mine to fire a wildcat 7mm with a COL of 3.4, I have no trouble loading these. To extract a loaded round I need to remove the bolt, but on the Barnard this is a snap, almost as fast as extracting a fired case.

Robertson are fantastic actions. For a much less, if you can find a Remington XR-100 in 22-250, these will likewise require bolt for loaded round removal, but the port measures 66mm and extracting a fired case is no problem at all.

These are a sweet single shot action, and the stocks are very nice too.

I used a 40X and custom short action for the 6.5x284 case. The 6.5x55 case is the exact same length. I had to pull the bolt out for loaded rounds. Empties came out normally.
