I have 2 Swedish Mauser rifles in 6.5x55 cal.
They shoot real sweet and I like them alot.
Thats why I bought all the reloading equipment I have for rifle ammo. (I used to reload for my shotguns only)
Does anyone have a source for the 6.5x55 brass?
I've been reloading the factory loaded stuff for a while now but its getting kind of pricey.
Someone also told me I could make 6.5x55 brass by necking down and trimming 7x57 mauser brass?
Anyone else heard that?
Thanks in advance.
Eric

Most any dealer listed above should be able to get brass for the 6.5 Swede easily. It's a common round for reloading and most of the big companies (Remington, Winchester etc.) make the cases available as components. No sense in resizing other cases when they are readily available from your favourite dealer. If you are looking for top notch brass then the Lapua and Norma brands are a bit more money and a bit harder to find but they are worth the cost and effort.

Should you stumble onto some Igman once fired brass....beware!
Though decent brass, it is thicker and requires a little more force to resize. The flash hole is smaller than usual and will have to be drilled out to use standard decapping pins and the case capacity is smaller as well. Upper end loads quickly turn into compressed loads using this brass.

brass for your Swede

WSS usually has some Winchester brass for the swede. I get Lapua brass from Hirsch Precision in the Maritimes. I think mysticplayer may have some as well.
