6.5x55 - Tikka M-65

Anybody here load for that Rifle ?, Just curious how you made out. Im finding myself tweaking a load that I Use to use in a M-96 Swedish Mauser but no real success yet (worked up to 47.5 - RL-22 with 140 gr. Partition). I notice the magazine and action are just huge and swallow up that little 6.5 SM....I guess they didnt' make a medium action . I would also be interested to what COAL you have been loading to .

Im going back out sunday for more load dev. I will be using Winchester cases this time.

My son has the same gun and we went 48gr RE22/140 Sierra BT or Hornady SP's both 1/2-3/4 MOA..................Harold

Maybe she does not like partitions, I do have have some Sierra SBT left so Ill throw that into the mix too.

I shoot a Tikka 695 and use IMR 4350 powder with great results look at my posts.

Never tried the Partitions but will get around to it later as the kid just has deer tags not moose or elk.................Harold

My M65 is a 20" carbine and it works well with a 140 Partition loaded to 3.210"
46.0 gr. RL22 or 48.0 H1000 make a nice group.

Thanks, guys, 47.5 and 48 gr. looked promising this morning with the Winchester brass. I will not do anymore development until I can lighten up the trigger. As far as I can see there seems to be an adjustment screw visible when one removes the magazine, Im guessing counterclock lightens up the pull ? (Like my Sako)
