Would you folks think one of these outshines in terms of on deer (whitetail) performance? I'm getting about 2650fps with both of them out of my t/c contender, and accuracy is similar.
go shoot one of each into the end of a chunk of fireword, then dissect the wood to get the bullets back, pick the one that performed the best at your velocity
I have had good results with Accubonds with my 6.8, I found that the sierra's didn't open up as well on various critters. I wonder if the sierra's are made with 270 winchester velocities in mind?
that is the issue, .270 bullets have the winchester and wsm in mind when it come to hunting performance, you really need to find a bullet marked as 6.8 so you know it was tried and trued at the appropriate velocity
Well I took your advice yodave and shot each into a face of maple. Results were pretty darn close I think. Both had about the same penetration...About 5". The accubond retained 107gr of weight and the sierra 104gr. I didn't go crazy cleaning them so take it for what its worth. Here are couple pics of the recovered bullets, sierra is on left. I am confident both of them would get the job done. What you all think?
