I have been looking for about 2 yrs for a neck sizing die for 6.8spc and have had no luck getting one. So I was wondering if it would be possible to use a 270 win neck sizing die on the 6.8spc? If so how would I do it? Thanks for any advise or help in advance. If someone has a neck die for the 6.8spc that they want to sell pm me and we could talk about a sale.

Thamks

I got a redding bushing neck sizing die, I might get to use it for the first time this week, I have had it for 3 or four years now.......
I ordered it through Jerry at mystic, might be worth dropping him a pm or email to see if he can source another

Ok thanks I will send him a pm...are you loading 6.8spc? If you are, are you loading for a bolt gun or ar?

bolt gun, savage model 12 F-class with a 27 inch benchmark match barrel, running IMR 4198 right now and getting scary groups with 90 grain TNT bullets.
I have a few 115 grain match to try once I get back into the SPC frame of mind

Sounds like a sweet set up. I have a rem 700 26" barrel and just going to start playing with it. I got hornady brass and nosler accubond 110gr and going to try X terminater powder. Hoping it will be a decient shooter if i do my part lol

I had that rifle when they were discontinued and on clearance for 729.oo it really shined with the Vmax bullets and N135 powder, used to shoot it out to 500 quite a bit.

Thats good to know. The x terminator was the only powder i found that was listed in the nosler manual. I am really looking forward to playing with it once the weather warms up lol if i can find a load it likes i will be stretching it out 500+ and for gophers

lots of data on hogdgons website now, and it is pretty much inline with the bolt rifle data I got directly from the sierra teckies
H4198 could be the winner, 3000 fps with the 90 grainers

I will have to start doing more looking for powder and charges for it. I would like to try 130 - 150gr bullets but last time i looked there was nothing. Even sent a email to nosler and never even got a reply

the case is a bot small for the larger bullets, you'd be down to the 2200 fps area if lucky I think, even the velocity on the 115's is depressing and the reason they dropped it all together in the first place

Yeah i was thinking they would be on the slower side. I found for 130gr accubond a guy was loading 26gr of varget and for corelock sp h335, he wouldnt tell me fps. I was reading on another site, guys were thinking the US is going to change from to the 556 to the 6.8 now haha

if you want sierra's load data PM me, I think it's pretty accurate as for speeds.

I bought a match reamer and I think it may have a bit to much free bore for my liking, bullets are seated way out so I run over max listed loads to get my velocity back, I might get the reamer ground down and then set the barrel back and rechamber so I can get the bullet back into the case. 25 grains of lil gun just started to give me pressure signs, 3 grains over max......don't ever try that load in your gun....accuracy was less then stellar
