My family friend who doesnt shoot pistols anymore is trying to sell me his guns for what he got them for back in the day.

The only appealing one seems to be the stainless colt python. Guessing by his age.. im gonna say this python might have been purchased in the late 70s - 80s. If i recall, the thing had alot of hairline scratches. I also didnt get a chance to check for cylinder wobble or space between the cylinder. I only got to play with it briefly until his G3 caught my attention (no 12.3:mad:..)

Im usually the type who only buys guns in excellent condition... but this is a COLT dammit!...

thoughts?

On a side note... how much would u guys pay for a brand new unshot G3 w/ collapsible stock...Luckily my dad still has the proper license but doesn't plan on buying anything he cant shoot at a range...maybe with a little bit of convincing....

I think the only other cool thing was his thompson contender...
I already got his colt 70 series (poor thing was soo scratched up and deep marks from obvious vice... its not even funny.. but nice trigger tho) Hi Standard Victor with the counter weight and ribbed sight thingy :)

The reason why i havent jumped on it is because i already have 2 nice S&W revolvers from the good olde days..

Well after seeing all this interest.. i might drop by and take a 2nd look..

So whats a realistic price for this thing? I always assumed the deep blued and nickel pythons were the best in terms of collecting.. and its pretty scratched up...

ok i get it.. i should walk over pay the man double for not grabbing it sooner..

Seriously... how much is this thing worth?

Please don't give me that "its as much as the buyer will pay" crap.. im asking for an estimate

A stainless python for $500! If you are still sitting here waiting for more replies you need your ass kicked!;)
I paid $600 for my used royal blue 6" 15 + years ago..

Well ill go snatch it after this week is over.. got some exams to take care of first...

Are there any Colt revolver gunsmiths in the area incase something is wrong with it?
