6" M-LOK AR-15 handguard

The best one I found was 7.5"

7.5 is the normal carbine gas length handguard. 7 in would be the minimum for a free float pistol length system. There are some short 4" handguards for the pistol length with A2 sight setups. Never seen 6 inches.

This is what I am working with:

I have that fixed rail section/gas block assembly. Options are limited for me with things like free floating handguards -- well, not a possibility for me at all. I'd be annoyed by this but I do have an affection for it. If I have to live with the YHM quadrail I will, but I wanted to see if I could lighten the rifle a bit.

Well if you use say a geissele smr rail in the 7" format, you just replace the delta ring with the supplied barrel nut and you will be able to retain the railed gas block too. Of course this is assuming you have a vise, vise block, torque wrench etc or know someone who has some tools you can borrow.

Also i believe magpul moe forends now have mlok slots, this would be another drop-in option but i do not know if it would work with your gas block

Edit: not to sound like a geissele shill or fanboy but the rails do come with a lowpro gas block so you could get a free float/longer handguard if you wanted to.
