I decided to take a leap of faith and move from my trusted 85gr HPBT Sierra's to the 100 gr Gameking SP in my .243 Win. I had good luck with the 100 gr flat base ProHunter in my 6mm Rem so what the heck...lets try the 100 gr Gameking in .243. I chose a 200 yd zero, and shot 3 of 5 almost in the same hole. As I don't have a chronograph, I tested for drop at 300 yds and then worked out muzzle velocity working backwards using the online Vortex LRBC.
Anyhoo, today I tested ballistic calculator results at 350 yds for each .243 Rem and 6mm Rem (BDL and 788 respectively). Calculated .243 muzzle velocity was 2740fps for a 4.2 MOA drop at 350 yds. For the 6mm Rem, the calculated muzzle velocity was 3000 fps for a 3.6 MOA drop at 350 yds. I adjusted for 4.25 MOA and 3.5 MOA respectively. Here are the results:

I wasn't at a range, but shot from a makeshift table using sandbags. The 6mm Rem is a 2 1/8" spread, the .243 Win I didn't measure but all in all I'm satisfied. Hunters are either happy or unhappy with Sierra 100 gr Gameking performance on game based on some research. Sierra says these two bullets are "counterparts" but I've heard the ProHunter is "tougher". I wanted a longer range option for varmints by going to the 100s but plan on packing either of these rounds for deer to 350 yards this year. Thoughts?
