Well I have about $600 more or less for for a Scope.
Scope will be use only for target shooting on my AR-15
My scope rings set are 1"
I am After one hole precision and found out that a Firefly reticle was not the best for target shoothing.

What should I look for ?
Variable, Fix ?
Turrets, What are turrets by the way ?
How much power ?

I dont know much about scopes and dont really know what to look for.
So coatching and recommendations would be really appreaciated

Thanks

Maybe have a look at the Bushnell fixed 10 power scope in the 3200 series, have heard nothing but good things about this scope. It will have the turrets and mildots, a couple of features most long range shooters desire. FS

I'd save up a little more and buy a used Leupold VX3.

Magnification depends largely on what ranges you'll be shooting at, but a 2.5-8 should be more than sufficient.

Maybe look into a Zeiss Conquest 3-9 too. It's in your price range and it's a solid scope.

I'm sure Frontier would be happy to sell you a Falcon Menace 5.5-25 scope for about $550. Tactical knobs, FFP, illuminated reticles, etc. Course, you will need to buy some 30mm rings, but you'll still come in at about $600 minus taxes. And you'll actually be able to see those .223 holes at 200m.

For target shooting more is better, but better comes at a price.

A used Leupold 6-20X40 or 50 is an excellent choice, and start in that range.

I will try to do 1 hole at 100M and clover leaf at 200M
3X9 and 2.5X8 might be weak at 200m dont you think ?

One hole at 100M and clovers at 200M eh? Not with a stock AR-15 unless you have a very special rifle. This is just me now but I don't like high power scopes on an AR-15. High power scopes don't necessarily translate into increased accuracy. I'll go out on a limb and say your rifle cannot shoot clovers at 200M with any scope. Something with low magnification (3, 4 or 5) will do just fine out to 300M. Even better if you have say a 1-4 power so you can shoot point blank, eyes open, through the scope at 1 power or 300 or more M on 4 power.

Economical scopes:

Millett DMS-1 1-4X 24 30mm tube
Falcon Menace 1.5-5X 30 30mm tube
Mount these on a Burris P.E.P.R 30mm mount

You say you have $600. Either of these scopes and the P.E.P.R mount will come under $500.
