Hey all. I'm looking at buying 3 scopes in the near future for 3 different rifles. All hunting rigs. My barska 6x24-44 just doesn't cut it in the last moments of fading light so I need to upgrade for hunting not precision. What is the best line or brand to buy for about $500+tax and shipping?
First is a 25-06 used for coyote and deer and ground hogs out to about 400 yards. I'd like a higher magnification in this one
Second is a 35 whelen bolt action that will be used for big game at close to mid range. Ontario style hunting. 3-9 would work
Lastly is a very low powered wide field of view for a 45-70 double rifle. I may wait and spend more as the prices I'm seeing for these are $1000+
Basically I'm looking for a quality rugged repeatable clear scope designed more for hunting. I've been looking at bushnell elite, ziess conquest and various leupolds. What would the better choice be? I've only ever used cheaper scopes so even a low end higher grade should be a dramatic increase

Try a Zeiss 3-9x40 , amazing clarity and light transmission.

The manufacturers websites will state the % of light that they transmit, kind of a nice guide.

Sightron is another to look at, great bang for the buck as well.

I'm a big fan of the Conquest line of scopes. I also have a healthy respect for Bushnell Elites and Redfield scopes (Redfield being some of the best value scopes currently on the market, IMHO). Any of those scopes should suit your purposes, and give you years of service.
