I searched forever for one and the only one I could find eventually came from gunbroker. It cost a pretty penny but I want to try and build my own version in the future so needed a good sample to start from. Anyone that I contacted in the us to buy one from wouldn't even respond to my emails.

A heck of a project to undertake. They are a cool milestone in AR-15 history, but I suspect you will have to make the stock on your own. I don't recall any companies making reproductions, just a couple of guys making them in their garage as a sort of cottage industry. If they don't want to sell to you, there's not much you can do.
Five years ago nobody was making them, the guys who wanted one were building one. Enough good photos exist on the net to do a good job. But like I say, it's a heck of a project.

That's kind of what I figured. If I built one myself it wouldn't be accurate down to the details, I don't think I could do it with the equipment I have. I could cobble something together that functions, but I'm pretty sure it would be crude.
