Hey there, I have an old old 64b. I just mounted the mag conversion kit and it shoots like a hot damn.

Even though the wood (with the rabbit on it) is still relatively in good shape, I was wondering are there other stock options like synthetics (so many for the 10/22)for such an old gun?

Savage now makes these rifles, and they are avail with heavy barrel and synthetic stocks.....try posting a WTB in the EE forum for one. You may come up with a stock for dirt cheap.....

OH my bad, 64...it's a cooey or a winny and it says 22lr ranger on it. I picked up the mag conv from epps. The barrel/rx'vr bolt was a ##### to take out, so I took it to the smith, and he did something magical to it and took it out, also he installed the kit for me. because if it doesn't work, then i can blame somebody other than me.

Thanks, I shall look into the savage line of synths...
I guess they do not make mags > 10rds? like those nice banana clips from butler that can fit like 30+ for the 10/22?

I have one of those Cooey 64s myself and it was my first 22. It was purchased new in 1967 for $45 and it accounted for untold numbers of small game, tin cans and pine cones. Many yrs later when the original plastic mags worn out I had a local gunsmith install a metal mag conversion kit. But it never really looked right with the metal mags and as soon as I found a replacement plastic mag in a gun show ($25), I change it back.
