I've been wanting to build a 243 AI on a Rem 700 for LR coyote and target shooting. The bullet of choice is either the 107 SMK or 105 Amax. If possible I'd like to have the ability to use bullets as light as 90-95 grains, but don't require anything lighter since I have smaller varmint rifles.
I'm leaning toward a 28" SS Lilja 3 groove barrel rem varmint contour, 9 twist, but am not sure it will stabilize the 107's.
Other options would be a hart or Rock Creek. I'm a little iffy on the Rock Creek because cut rifled barrels can take awhile to break in. Upside to it being I can get a custom twist in 1/4" incriments. 8.25, 8.5, 8.75 etc. Anybody use this round/load combo and what results.
