Before you state the obvious I know the box says 7 to 8" but 105gr hornadys specify 1 in 9" with only a 2 grain difference in bullet weight ?

Has anyone out there TRIED using the 107 grain sierra matchkings in a 9" twist barrel and if so did they work out?

If anyone has tried this configuration id be interested to know the results.

Nope, the ogive is at a different ballance point I believe allowing the 1:9 twist to make the 105 amax work in the 1:9 twists.

Compare the lengths of rifling contact on the bullets you will see visualy a slight difference, as the amax is shorter along he contact zone.

105s still would not fly as well as 95s and 85s in my 1:9 and myself would not even attempt to waste my barrel life on 107s with a 1:9.25

Just my 2 cents.

I am sure someone will express this in better proper terms, but not me lol!

107 and the 9.25 twist

I had a 243 win in a Rem 700 that would shoot these,SOME of the time. If the weather was hot they would shoot but not in cooler weather. Stick with the hornady 105 they were made for that twist.
