6mm Ackely Improved

I was wondering if anyone have opinions on how good this round is for hunting deer and possibly moose.
And do you have to re-load your own rounds or are these rounds freely available.
What distances are most effective for this caliber.

Excellent deer/antelope cartridge, but on moose, you'd want to be running TTSX for sure, and avoid the shoulder. Wouldn't be my first choice, but if it was all I had, I'd use it.

The Ackley Improved version is a reload option only.

It will kill a moose, but you gotta ask yourself why? When there are so many better choices out there.

It's a long range deer/varmint gun, prolly hard on barrels if used for target work, this type of cartridge is not for bigger game. The bullet will either expand too fast on hide or pass through, with little damage for a humane kill.
