As the title states... anyone see any of the major makes bringing in 6mm ARC boltys into Canada yet? I figured with all the rage and press they're making in the States (yes I know it's AR focused) you'd think they'd be clamoring to fulfill the bolt action crowd too?

My question is why? When you have the Creedmoors out there. Guys have stepped up/away from the 6BR variants to the Creedmoors for PRS. The ARC would be stepping back again in performance/ballistics. Another thing is the boltface for the ARC is a smaller boltface. I highly doubt a rifle manufacturer will make a bolt that will fit both a .440 diameter and .470 diameter case head.

6BR variants are still very relevant and popular in PRS type disciplines, and I would wager more popular than 6mm creedmoor (and especially 6.5).

As far as the 6ARC is concerned, you can always build one. Just get an action with the proper bolt face and get a rifle built around that. Or better yet, build a 6BR/variant.

The bigger bolt face Jard J180 build kit can handle 6 mm ARC. Sylvestre Sports has only brought in the .556/Blackout kits so far, but if hopefully they will bring in the 7.62x39 / Type 1 Grendel / 6 MM ARC kits soon. You may want to contact them to push for it. You could probably get IBI to turn a nice 6 MM ARC barrel to go with it. Good luck!

Some good points, but the reason I'm interested in 6mm ARC is for that very reason as you stated above about a smaller bolt face... to have a smaller action. In fact, if HOWA made their mini action in the 6mm ARC, I'd pick it over the Grendel and if more chassis options were available, then it'd take the cake to build it out instead of a 223 bolty. Just my thoughts. I think time will tell if 6mm ARC gains any traction. Coles notes from what I'm hearing is it has 6.5 grendel performance but better barrel longevity.

Alpha, that is the nice thing with some of the aftermarket action makers. You can get short actions, short bolt throw. Problem most are Single shot actions. If you need a repeater well not as much luck. There are aftermarket actions with the .470 bolt face that will extract the 440 head cases. Drawback with a 440 bolt is you are limited to those case sizes unless you have a lathe or someone with a lathe to rebate the rims. A lot cheaper than a second bolt. I have a 30 BR that I shoot in a PPC boltface. My barrel guy rebates my cases. For me. I need to find a small lathe that will fit the cutter I had ground and I could do it myself.
