6mm

My 700 didn't like those or 107s. Best performance was with 85gr Sierra.
However, same twist barrels can behave differently.

6mm......Remington? 243? 243 WSSM?

I can tell you that 115 Bergers won't even work well in a 7.5 twist being pushed by a 6XC at 2950. They need lots of RPM. DTAC's work ok in 7.5 and I have even heard 8Twists will work if pushed hard. I use 1:7 in my latest 6X47 Lapua for 115's explicitly

I am pretty sure that a 9 twist won't stabilize 115 gr projectiles. I am just collecting the bits to build a 6-284, 1-7 is what I have and I expect it to work just fine.

243 pushes them hard enough that a 9 twist would probably work with 107's. 105 Amax specifies 1:9.

It aint the weight, its the length that determines the requirements of RPM and thus twist. Problem is, 115's are only out there in a couple of brands and they are really long.

You're gonna get to shoot my 6X47 on Sunday! I'm loading you some ammo as we speak!... Versatile at 0900 buddy!

Obtunded.
I'm guessing your 7 twist barrel in .243 is a Krieger. They are not listed on the web site. Are they a custom build? If so how much extra are they and what kind of wait time would be expected?

7 twist is a custom twist, but I have a 1:7 30" (finished length) straight blank in stock right now, so wait time would be what it takes to get it to you,

But if a different contour is what you're after, the wait is 16-18 weeks right now and the custom twist is an extra $25 US

^mm and twist rate?

Obtunded, a 6x47L in a 7 twist, "make sure you have some of that gun juice in the barrel, or won't last over 100 rounds!!!!!!! I'd like to hear how the 115gr performs for you, so far I haven't heard much on them for long range.

I did up an empiricle load of 38 grains of N560 and seated my 115's 10 thou in past first land contact. I did this in preparation for ladder testing. My "Breaking In" a barrel consists of 2 or 3 shots to flatten the rough spots, and then I get down to shooting..... At 120M, all 5 shots were touching.

I've been waiting for a warmer day to ladder test and fine tune the load as there isn't much point in developing a -10C load when I shoot in +20-+40

Believe it or not, I DID gun-juice the barrel! ;)

Has anyone tried the 115 gr bullets in a 9" twist factory 700 in 6mm?

yeah, however im not sure if my 6mm 700 is a 1:9 though, its about 25 years old. Accuracy at 200 yards was fine though.
