Looking at trying my hand at a new 6mmBR, and looking for a budget set of dies. I want something affordable as I am in no way going to compete internationally, but still have decent results. If that means anything, my whole setup is LEE, and if they made a set, I would have bought it instinctually whitout question. So, is the Hornady offering a good buy?

Not real sure if you are asking if that is a good price for those dies, or if those dies are good quality? As I read that ad, you still have to buy bushings for sizing your case necks, for it. Your link is to a US website - so that price is likely $US, not $C - and I presume that you will pay for shipping on top of that purchase price.

I do own a couple sets of Hornady dies - in 28 Nosler and 9.3x57 - but they are the "Custom Grade Dies" - they may or may not have anything to do with the dies you asked about. The 28 Nosler set was circa $C 89 in 2020 (from Amazon.ca) - mailed to me - and also required a separate purchase of a shell holder for the press. The 9.3x57 dies were circa $C 99 from TradeEx (mailed to me) in same year - I already had a shell holder for that cartridge size. Of the various Lee dies sets that I have, most came with a shell holder - I used to think of them as $3 or $4 items - not any more!!!

Indeed, I should have been clearer, thank you for pointing it out. I am asking about the quality, as the price seems noticeably lower than competitors. However, your mention of the bushings makes a whole lot of sense, and is something that went completely over my head. Perhaps not as much of a "deal" as I thought those were.

Agreed on the shell holders. I already have the required ones, but I always thought of it as nickel and diming your customers, hence why I systematically chose LEE for all my dies (and most gear).

Hornady reloading has very long history, but as Pacific. It is the firm that introduced shellholders and the 7/8x14 die threads. Hornady reloading is the third version. Of the die companies they seem to be one of the most innovative. Enough good things said . I think there are three lines of dies, American or something, I haven't used them but I have read bad about them. Next up are the Custom Grade, by now they have worked the bugs out of decapping stem system with their Zip Stem. I think it has the best polished and shaped button in the business.I bought a couple of the full length resizing dies recently. I have 264WM and 338WM sets, as well. I did up grade the stems to Zip and had to drill breather holes in the bullet seaters. You can get micrometer heads for their bullet seaters fairly reasonably. This line includes a sleeve bullet seater, very good thing . It helps line up the bullet and neck. It is also included with their top of the line die set, Match Grade, a bushing neck sizing set. Higginsons sell Hornady as well as Lee.

I would recommend Forster dies, they have three lines too. The lowest has their Benchrest F/L, next up includes a truly great seater die, It matches the cartridge instead of being just a general 6mm like the Hornady. And top line a bushing die set.
