What is sporting clays?

Sporting clays is a shotgun shooting sport with clay pigeons at multiple different stations with multiple different target presentations. It is commonly known as simulated hunting as sporting clays offers target presentations that are better suited for hunting practice. The game is almost sometimes referred to as golf with shotguns because its nature of walking a course and stopping at shooting stands.

Is sporting clays difficult?

It can be, but the Fundshoot is a day to have fun and enjoy a casual game of sporting clays. We set the course up with easy to medium challenging targets with nothing too technical. Their may be the occasional hard target for experienced shooters to have some fun but otherwise a fairly easy course and a great introduction to sporting clays.

What kind of shotgun can I bring?

Anything that has a barrel length of 26" or longer. Because sporting clays is simulated hunting, any field hunting shotgun will be right at home on a sporting clay course. It needs to be a shotgun capable of a second shot because every station is a pair.

What gauge can I bring?

We will provide the ammunition primarily for 12 gauge but if you intend to bring a 20 gauge, please let us know so we can bring some ammunition for you.
